- ➤ Tuesday, the Northwest Arkansas Land Trust secured a permanent conservation easement for 75 acres near Elkins in the Beaver Lake watershed (the area supplies the main drinking water) with funding from Beaver Water District and the Arkansas Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Division; the property owned by Tom and Judy Costello includes pasture, mature woods, ponds and a tributary to Richland Creek and will remain privately owned. - ➤ Bentonville coach Jody Grant recalled the memorable 2006 overtime loss at Gates Stadium when his team, then ranked No. 3, faced undefeated Rogers, with the game leaving a lasting impression on all involved.
