Tuesday, the Northwest Arkansas Land Trust secured a permanent conservation easement for 75 acres near Elkins in the Beaver Lake watershed (the area supplies the main drinking water) with funding from Beaver Water District and the Arkansas Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Division; the property owned by Tom and Judy Costello includes pasture, mature woods, ponds and a tributary to Richland Creek and will remain privately owned.
