- ➤ Greenwood Gearhart, an investment firm managing about $2 billion in assets in Fayetteville, announced a minority, non-controlling investment from Chicago-based Constellation Wealth Capital on Nov. 19. The deal will help the firm improve client services—upgrade technology, attract talent and expand opportunities—while allowing more employees to become shareholders and keeping the company independent. - ➤ Walmart will post its third-quarter earnings report today at 6 a.m. on its financial results page, and analysts will look for hints about Christmas sales while expecting earnings of 6 cents per share—CEO Doug McMillon will join his final earnings call before retiring, with CFO John David Rainey and Walmart U.S. chief John Furner hosting the live 7 a.m. call. - ➤ Mercy announced on Nov. 19 that Rhett Stover has been named president of Mercy Northwest Arkansas Communities—he will begin on Dec. 1 to lead local hospitals and clinics while returning to Mercy after managing a primary care network. NWA Business Journal
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ The city of Bentonville issued a $42.26 million permit for a five story, 300 unit housing complex at 1100 to 1102 N.E. J. St that will serve students at the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine and local residents. The construction will take place on 11 acres east of the school and is set to finish by late 2027—Flintco is the general contractor. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ On Friday night, Benton with an 8—2 record will host Mountain Home with a 9—2 record in the second round of the Class 6A state playoffs. Coach Steve Ary said Barrett Miller, who broke his school's rushing record with a 223-yard game in the first round and now has 1,942 yards—earning him a Division I scholarship offer from Kennesaw State—will be key to stopping Mountain Home's offense.
