COMMUNITY NEWS

  • SOCO Church in Bentonville will serve 500 Thanksgiving meals to families in need — including those affected by the government shutdown — on November 25 at 6 p.m. The church has served 250 to 350 meals annually to up to 3,500 people and will have 100 volunteers available, so families should arrive early to avoid long lines.  4029 News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A Northwest Arkansas volunteer firefighter named Colby—attending EMT school in Pryor with plans for the fire academy in 2026—was critically injured in a motorcycle crash on Nov. 11 and is now recovering in the hospital while the Maysville Volunteer Fire Department raises funds for his family.  5 News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • A coworking space called Arkade is now open at the Ledger in downtown Bentonville to provide office space for startups and established brands to work together—its 6,000-square-foot layout seats about 50 full-time workers and may expand as demand grows, backed by a seven-figure donation from Spring Capital. Director Kathryn Carlisle said the center will host shared programming and innovation initiatives for local businesses.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Canetta Reid is a licensed lawyer and HR leader who built her career at Walmart in Bentonville and other companies while changing how work is done. After beating breast cancer, she now consults for Axiom and Epiq — using her experience to help companies and stay close to her family — and aims to leave a lasting impression.  NWA Business Journal

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bentonville Schools announced yesterday that Pittsburg State University partnered with the district to offer full academic scholarships to 10 Ignite Professional Studies students who will enroll at Pitt State’s Crossland College of Technology to study construction, engineering or digital media. Applicants will begin the enrollment process soon and selected students will have their scholarships renewed if they maintain the required GPA.  NWA Business Journal

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Alice L. Walton Foundation announced Wednesday that CannonDesign and EDSA will design a new 100-acre Bentonville health care campus west of Interstate 49, with the initial phase set to open in December 2028. The project features a Center for Advanced Specialty Care, parking garage, utility building, gardens, and trails—construction will begin in 2026.  NWA Business Journal
