Good morning, Bentonville. Here's your local news at a glance for Tuesday, the 4th of November.

COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Northwest Arkansas has a list of food banks and pantries for residents affected by the loss of SNAP benefits and others needing food — the resource guide details mobile pantry stops across communities, fixed sites like Feed Rogers and the Samaritan Community Center, and school-based options for meals. Over 100 little free pantries are also available for quick access to food supplies.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Outdoor events are planned in Bentonville, Springdale and nearby areas this fall, including a Saturday walk in Bentonville with a $4 fee at Park Springs Park and a volunteer inquiry meeting on opportunities at the Hunt Family Nature Center in Springdale at 2 p.m. Additional programs include hikes, catch-and-release fishing, waterfowl cooking classes and duck identification workshops held by local agencies — a full schedule for outdoor enthusiasts.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Staff at The Community Table food pantry in Bentonville served 52 families by noon Monday as demand surged amid rising food insecurity. Pastor Debbie Martin said low supplies forced them to limit items—possibly alternating meat and vegetarian selections—to stretch resources.  4029 News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Synchrony became the title sponsor for the annual concert series at the Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion in Rogers on November 3rd — it announced new 2026 tours that include Jim Gaffigan, Hardy and 5 Seconds of Summer and postponed some performances from 2025.  NWA Business Journal
  • At a Bentonville event, Walmart said its online marketplace now has over 200,000 sellers — adding 44,000 new ones in recent months. The company offers a Grow With Us program that provides classes and financial help and uses its 4,600 stores for fast order fulfillment — showing its plan to mix online and in-store shopping.  NWA Business Journal
  • HFA, a Bentonville-based architecture and engineering firm, announced on Monday (Nov. 3) that it acquired Boston-based TRIA, a firm known for its work in life sciences and laboratory design. This acquisition marks HFA’s entry into the science and technology sector and added 17 new employees from TRIA.  NWA Business Journal

  • Springdale and Fayetteville residents can provide input on a rail corridor safety study that focuses on eight railroad crossings across a fourteen mile corridor. Springdale will host an open house at the Shiloh Museum at 118 W. Johnson Ave. from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 10 while Fayetteville holds one in Room 101 at City Hall from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 12—both events aim to find solutions to improve crossing safety.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • The Arkansas Department of Human Services will furlough over 1,500 workers beginning November 7 because the federal government shutdown continues — a move that may delay benefits like SNAP and TANF — and food pantries in Northwest Arkansas are already seeing longer lines as community groups scramble to help families in need.  5 News
