- ➤ On Oct. 30, more than 100 people attended an invitation‑only event at Northwest Technical Institute in Springdale to celebrate its 50th anniversary and the opening of an $8 million ammonia refrigeration and boiler training facility. The new 19,000‑square‑foot building—Arkansas’s only ammonia refrigeration training center—serves 14 to 20 students and will soon launch advanced courses in refrigeration and electrical systems.
