- ➤ Workforce programs in Northwest Arkansas have boosted residents’ career skills and economic mobility as Walton Family Foundation grants helped organizations like Apprenticely and Upskill NWA offer apprenticeships and on-the-job training. Apprenticely has served nearly 2,000 apprentices and Upskill NWA has trained more than 400 local workers—efforts that will grow to meet rising demand in IT, health care and manufacturing—paving the way for more opportunities. - ➤ The University of Arkansas will hold an off campus housing fair on Tuesday, Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Verizon Ballroom in Fayetteville for sophomores and students planning to live off campus next year, and local property managers will be available to answer housing questions. 4029 News

- ➤ Local food pantries in Northwest Arkansas are bracing for a surge in need as federal SNAP funding has run out and benefits will stop on Nov. 1 unless Congress reopens government.
