  • Jim von Gremp, a former Walmart executive, state legislator and philanthropist, died at his Bentonville home on Oct. 12 at 75 after battling cancer for five years—his funeral will be held on Nov. 1 at Fellowship Bentonville with a visitation at 10 a.m.  NWA Business Journal

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Authorities said Southeast 10th Street between South Main and Southeast Benton is closed every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Oct. 31 for work on the Thaden Elementary School expansion project — the school is adding five acres to its campus and work will finish by fall 2026.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Today, thousands gather in Bentonville for the 10-day Big Sugar Classic festival that celebrates mountain and gravel biking in the community.
