  • Residents can now enjoy A Street Promenade in downtown Bentonville—this quarter-mile brick-lined, pedestrian-only path links parks and public spaces and features art sculptures. Officials said a grand opening and ribbon-cutting celebration will happen in November.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Bentonville residents can now enjoy a nearly complete A Street Promenade—a brick-lined, pedestrian-only strip that links key downtown parks and plazas as part of the Quilt of Parks project. The space features public art, seating, and gardens and is funded by local donors and Visit Bentonville, with an official grand opening set for November.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Officials in Rogers said that after a semi-truck ignored size limits and struck War Eagle Bridge Wednesday evening—damaging its railing, overhead members, and deck boards—both county and state inspectors declared the structure safe while repair work is set to begin.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Tyson Foods reached a preliminary settlement to pay $85 million to end a class action suit over pork price inflation that began in 2018—lawyers said the agreement now awaits approval from Judge John Tunheim in Minneapolis.  NWA Business Journal
  • Walmart is boosting its delivery service—expanding its supply chain and automation—and chief e-commerce officer David Guggina said the company will soon deliver almost all orders in three hours or less while offering some in 30 minutes.  NWA Business Journal

HEALTH NEWS

  • Veterans in Northwest Arkansas and River Valley can get walk-in flu shots from the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks this flu season. The system offers Fluad for veterans 65 and older and Afluria for veterans 18 — 64 at multiple sites including the Fayetteville VA Medical Center which is open 8 a.m. — 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • Interim Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino said on Wednesday that he and his new defensive staff are working to simplify schemes and build on team strengths as the Razorbacks prepare to face Tennessee on Oct. 11. He noted that players showed strong effort at Tuesday's practice—focusing on run fits—and that no player has entered the transfer portal after the recent staff changes.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
