- ➤ Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers and Springdale reported a total sales tax revenue of $9.736 million in September, a 1.79% decline overall; Bentonville’s revenue fell 19.92% to $2.03 million—its lowest since 2020, with leaders citing cautious consumer spending and higher tax rebates from large projects. - ➤ Today in Tontitown— the state confirmed that the sewer lift station handling wastewater from Eco-Vista Landfill is the sole source of foul odors after an air quality study traced the smell to the station rather than the landfill. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ On Tuesday, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office unveiled upgrades to its jail including a new medical wing and expanded intake area—costing over $2 million in county savings and federal relief dollars and improved with inmate labor to reduce expenses. 4029 News
- ➤ Airport officials reported that the access road designated Arkansas 642 is 67% complete and the bypass designated Arkansas 612 is 75% complete while they approved a detachment agreement with Highfill and projects for a new terminal concourse, a convenience store, extended utilities, and land acquisition for a future runway. Terminal renovations continue today as crews install escalators as part of ongoing improvements—completion of road upgrades is expected by mid-2027. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ On Tuesday, members of the Arkansas House Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee met with economists and local farmers in Stuttgart to discuss financial struggles as depressed commodity prices, high input costs and a weak export market put farms at risk. Lawmakers may seek immediate supplemental aid since some warn that up to one in three farms could close without help — a sign that the rural economy is under strain. - ➤ Airport officials said the access road is 67% done and the U.S. 412 bypass is 75% complete with paving and bridge work underway, and both projects are scheduled for early to mid-2027. - ➤ Construction is underway at Oz Trails Bike Park on Bella Vista bluffs to build Arkansas’s first chairlift-access bike park. The park will have 300 feet of vertical climb and a 2,500-foot lift—trails will be marked by difficulty and a restaurant with bike services added—and it will open in summer 2026. 4029 News
- ➤ Tight end Jaivion Martin (6-4, 245 pounds) reopened his recruitment after decommitting from Arkansas football; ESPN rated him as the No. 6 tight end in the nation from Willis, Texas. Arkansas now has 24 commitments for the 2026 class. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
