BUSINESS NEWS

  • About 1,200 people are expected to attend the 12th Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit, which will be held Oct. 27 and 28 at venues along Dickson Street in Fayetteville plus sessions will run at Walton Arts Center, TheatreSquared and the Ramble. Event director Ashlee Dunahoo said the summit will feature four tracks, keynote addresses, live demos and a pitch contest organized by the Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce with Startup Junkie.  NWA Business Journal

  • Officials in Benton and Washington counties have staged equipment and warned residents to avoid driving into high water as storms approach today — creeks and rivers are running high after several days of heavy rain, and road crews are on standby to clear hazards.  4029 News

  • A meeting at Springdale City Hall on Monday showed that living in smaller towns like West Fork, Greenland and Lincoln is as expensive as living in Bentonville once higher travel costs are added to lower housing prices; DPZ CoDesign presented data to Benton and Washington county quorum courts—attendees will use the study to shape a regional growth strategy with a final report expected next year.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Heavy rain caused play at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship to be suspended on Saturday when the Pinnacle Country Club course became unplayable—eight groups had played at least one hole before play stopped.
