- ➤ Ouachita Baptist University and John Brown University reported record enrollment for fall 2025 — officials say the high numbers show strong student interest ahead of classes. University leaders will use the figures to plan for the upcoming semester. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Benton County Sheriff's Office is hosting Parents Night Out events at Bentonville West, Bentonville, and Rogers high schools—helping parents learn about online risks that affect their children. The first event is tomorrow at Bentonville West High School with additional sessions on Sept. 30 at Bentonville High School and Nov. 4 at Rogers High School. 5 News
- ➤ The Northwest Arkansas Council has proposed a new regional industrial development authority that will allow Bentonville and two other counties to finance and build large-scale real estate projects—this tool is expected to attract businesses and boost jobs and tax revenue. - ➤ On Sunday, Erica Shepherd won the Epson Tour's El Dorado Shootout at Mystic Creek Golf Club by making a birdie on the 18th hole — Mark Graham captured the ASGA Senior Amateur by shooting five under par with key birdies on the 16th and 18th holes. The University of Arkansas stayed unbeaten in SEC play by defeating Texas A&M 1 to 0 in College State as Vailana Tu'ua scored the only goal and goalkeeper Evelyn Vitali made a crucial save in the 88th minute.
