Pea Ridge Council member Jeff Neil resigned in late July and left his seat Friday because he accepted a new job at Arvest Bank.
Five people have applied for the Ward 2, Position 2 seat, which will be filled at the Sept. 16 meeting—applicants must submit by Sept. 9.
Hunters in Bentonville are set for dove season starting Sept.
6 and running until Oct. 26 with a break before resuming on Dec. 8—public fields at Wedington Wildlife Management Area and other spots will enforce a daily limit of 15 mourning and white-winged doves while allowing unlimited Eurasian collared doves. Millet-planted fields will soon be top-sown with winter wheat or sorghum to attract the birds during the busy opening weekend.
