GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents in Pea Ridge can share their views on a rezoning request—over 40 acres may allow denser homes—when the Planning Commission meets Tuesday. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Benton County Veteran Services is looking for World War II veterans and surviving spouses to honor at a Veterans Day ceremony in November—if you know someone, call the Veteran Services Office before the end of September. The county will also recognize all veterans with a special tribute for those from World War II. 5 News
- ➤ Bentonville City Council voted 8-0 to approve a $3.5 million grant from the Walton Family Foundation — the funds will relocate a 1.5-mile section of Wishing Springs Trail and add two new bridges to restore safe passage for cyclists and pedestrians between Bentonville and Bella Vista. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Benton County inspectors found several restaurants with food safety issues such as unclean equipment, improper storage of cleaning agents like Drano stored near cup lids at Airport Stop in Bentonville+ and problems with handwashing and temperature controls reported at sites in Siloam Springs, Rogers, and other nearby communities.
