Community Blood Center of the Ozarks says hospital blood use spiked this year, so it is holding two drives this week—one today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Gravette Civic Center and Ozarks Community Hospital and one Friday at four donor centers including Bentonville.

Donors can receive zoo tickets and a chance to win a Kansas City Chiefs tailgate package—helping support local patients.

Bentonville City Council accepted a $3.53 million grant from the Walton Family Foundation on August 26 for a project that will relocate 2,500 feet of the Razorback Greenway and add two new pedestrian bridges to reconnect trails between Bella Vista and Bentonville—construction will start in October and finish by October 2026.

State government and the Northwest Arkansas Council will share $1,049,000 for an engineering study to plan regional wastewater solutions aimed at supporting the area's growth—projected to take 18 months while addressing cost and environmental factors.

Local officials and engineers will use the study to guide future development in the region.
