  • A study by The Recycling Partnership found that cities in Northwest Arkansas cannot manage recycling alone—regional cooperation is needed—since research funded by the Walmart Foundation shows a joint approach can boost efficiency.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A Pea Ridge property owner revised his rezoning request after neighbors expressed concerns and received approval to partially change his agricultural land for medium-density residential use. The decision was made after a Planning Commission meeting on August 5—public attendance was noted though no one spoke.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • A property in Pea Ridge that was used for farming is now partly zoned for medium-density homes — the owner changed his request to ease neighbor concerns.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • In Springdale, the Naturals won 4-3 over the Tulsa Drillers in the final game of a six-game series on Sunday afternoon as Roccaforte’s RBI single gave them the decisive edge — the team secured the series win with that play.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
