GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bentonville officials said the city will close East Central Avenue between South Main and Southeast F streets from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Aug. 29 and Sept. 2 to 5 for utility line work and will also close Southeast B Street from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 3—weather or other factors may delay the closures—and officials will post updates.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Arkansas attorney general has appealed a federal judge's decision that blocked a law requiring the Ten Commandments be posted in public schools— the judge also refused to dismiss a lawsuit claiming the law is unconstitutional in Fayetteville.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Bentonville will close East Central Avenue between South Main and Southeast F streets from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Aug. 29 and Sept. 2 to 5 for utility line work.
