- ➤ Indigo Road Hospitality Group became the operations partner for Bentonville-based Ropeswing Hospitality Group on Aug. 18, taking over management of several local restaurants and bars—staff were offered continued employment. - ➤ A Florida couple, formerly of Northwest Arkansas, pleaded guilty to defrauding pandemic relief loan programs with their business Slipstream Creative and were sentenced Friday to more than nine years combined in federal prison— they must also pay over $6 million in restitution. - ➤ Arkansas' July unemployment rate held steady at 3.7% while the state's employment and civilian labor force remained at record highs — showing that the job market did not change much from last month. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ Haas Hall Academy Bentonville ranked seventh nationally in the latest U.S. News review of public high schools—its four campuses led state rankings while Bentonville High School, the state's largest with about 3,500 students, placed fifth statewide. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Bentonville residents will see a 9% increase in sewer bills each year for the next six years as the $152.7 million expansion of the sewage treatment plant is paid for—water utility staff said no pipe upsizing will be financed by the higher rates. A firm finalizing its report may recommend the change soon and the City Council must approve the proposals. 5 News
- ➤ The Bentonville School Board approved a plan that sets school board member terms at six years—exceptions for shorter terms apply. Members will serve these new terms moving forward. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
