💼 Business
Walmart — the Bentonville-based retail giant — will report its second-quarter earnings tomorrow at 6 a.m. Analysts expect revenue to rise about 5% to $186.3 billion and the company will host a live conference call at 7 a.m. to discuss performance.
🎓 Education
The School Board approved plans to expand Evening Star Elementary — with two design options estimated at $5.8 million — and raised bus driver pay to $26.42 an hour to fill 17 vacancies.
It also recognized The International School at Mary Mae Jones as an IB World School, boosting enrollment.
🏛️ Government
Bentonville Planning Commission approved unanimously the campus development plan for a Walton family-led STEM university on a 14 acre site east of the former Walmart Home Office.
The plan begins with public improvements in Sept. 2026 & will welcome its first students in 2029.
Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is promoting tech investments by cutting red tape and directing over $2.6 billion in water projects (in all 75 counties) to protect utility costs while ensuring companies like Google pay full energy costs at their West Memphis data center.
