  • The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will hold a free fly fishing workshop for teachers at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bentonville West High School and host a family hike on a one-quarter mile trail at Devils Den State Park starting 9 a.m. Friday. A dog selection program for duck hunting will run from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday in Springdale, while volunteers are needed for youth nature programs at Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area and free used fishing reels donated by Bass Pro Shops are available at the Hunt Family Nature Center — linking local families with outdoor learning.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Tontitown-based PAMT Corp. promoted CFO Lance Stewart (56) to president, CEO and board member effective Monday (Aug. 4) as he replaces Joe Vitiritto who resigned for family reasons; Chairman Matthew Moroun returned to his role after serving as interim CEO.   • Arkansas farmers have long faced labor shortages and now worry that aggressive ICE efforts may discourage migrant workers from returning next season—deepening the challenge.   • Arkansas Game and Fish Commission announced the Legacy Lunker Program that will launch Jan. 1 to let anglers donate largemouth bass weighing 10+ pounds caught from public waters between Jan. 1 and March 31.
