A consultant warned state legislators Monday that the $510 million public school health insurance fund—already 17% above projections—would face a $31 million deficit in 2027 and deplete by 2029 if school districts, the state and employees do not raise contributions.
He offered two cost-sharing models to avoid the shortfall.
