- ➤ Paul Savas—who has nearly 20 years of nonprofit leadership—was named executive director of Cobblestone Farms on Monday, July 28, replacing Jordan Lanning, who will remain on the board. Under his leadership, the nonprofit will work to expand food production and provide fresh produce to families facing food insecurity in Northwest Arkansas. NWA Business Journal

- ➤ Pea Ridge police said a Bentonville man, 32-year-old Christopher Hobbie, faces charges including kidnapping, aggravated assault, burglary, theft and interference with emergency communications after his 29-year-old girlfriend, Alexandria McNeil, said she stabbed him to escape his attack at her Carr Street home on Friday when officers responded at 9:16 p.m. following a call for help — she then went to a neighbor’s house to call 911. - ➤ The U.S. 8th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a 2009 law that limits non-poll workers to help no more than six voters when casting ballots, ruling Monday that Arkansas United of Fayetteville lacked standing—only the U.S. Attorney General’s Office can bring such cases—and Secretary of State Cole Jester said the decision supports continued election security measures.
