EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Tuesday, the Bentonville School Board unanimously approved the purchase of a 0.47-acre parcel at 412 Tiger Blvd adjacent to Lincoln Junior High and the Administration Building.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Swift water rescue teams responded to calls in the Highfill, Cave Springs and Lowell areas today as Benton County officials activated the road department because of flooding. Road crews began closing roads and the closures map will be updated throughout the day—helping keep travel safe.  4029 News
  • Yesterday, residents in Bentonville saw the first partial draft of the new development code—a blueprint for the city’s future growth that aims to fix issues like congestion and affordability. Leaders will use a two to three week review period for community input before releasing the final draft in August.  4029 News

SPORTS NEWS

  • University of Arkansas men's basketball coach John Calipari and his staff watched top 2026 prospects perform at tournaments last weekend and will set up official visits in the fall.   • Sam Pittman said a $2.8 billion antitrust settlement went into effect on July 1 (letting each SEC school share up to $20.5 million with athletes) and giving Arkansas a chance to compete evenly with top teams.
