EDUCATION NEWS

  • Lawmakers approved on Tuesday a request for $90 million from the Restricted Reserve Fund to support the Education Freedom Account program for next school year. The move boosts funding by 48% over earlier allocations and will allow the education department to make first quarter payments for eligible students—helping Arkansas families choose their schools.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • A Bentonville nonprofit is partnering with Stemuli to build an AI learning platform that uses a video game design to help rural students and entrepreneurs learn faster. A Walton family-backed survey found 56% of midsection respondents said they had a low understanding of using AI at work — less than 1% reported high proficiency.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • A federal judge today allowed the Attorney General’s Office to join a lawsuit against a law that forces every public school to show a state-approved version of the Ten Commandments in classrooms and libraries—this ruling may lead to more court battles as the legal fight continues.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
