  • Pea Ridge High School students designed a 32-foot gooseneck hay trailer that was purchased by the 808 Ranch—bringing their school project into the working world.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On June 2, Dusty Meredith became Benton County’s new public safety administrator—bringing decades of experience to his role. He said he will use his background to strengthen county safety initiatives.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • Razorbacks coach Dave Van Horn pulled junior pitcher Zach Root in the second inning of the College World Series game in Omaha—bringing in sophomore Gabe Gaeckle—in an effort to slow LSU's scoring, though LSU beat the Razorbacks 4-1. Arkansas will face Murray State today at 1 p.m.  The Arkansas Traveler
  • The Arkansas Travelers rallied from a four-run deficit to beat the Northwest Arkansas Naturals 6-5 on Sunday at Dickey-Stephens Park — scoring their final five runs in the sixth inning. Blake Rambusch led offensively with three hits and four runs, and the team will take a day off today before hosting Wichita on Tuesday.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Bentonville’s Caden Newell was named NWADG Boys Soccer Player of the Year after a season of steady play—his modest goal and assist numbers did not lessen the impact of his team contributions; he received the honor following his performance on June 5.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Louisiana defensive back prospect Isaiah Washington was impressed by the strong bond among Arkansas football players — their unity clearly caught his attention.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Mikayla Sullivan from Bentonville West + Kylie Bucher from Springdale Har-Ber were named top newcomers in the 6A-West girls soccer conference after showing strong play in early matches.
