ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Heavy spring rains have delayed road mowing and sidewalk repairs in Northwest Arkansas—city crews defer work on hazardous, soggy ground for safety. Officials report that more rain this weekend will likely extend delays in Fayetteville, Bella Vista and Bentonville areas.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A public meeting is scheduled for June 26 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building (3200 SW Municipal Drive) in Bentonville to discuss plans to improve the Highway 12 and Highway 279 intersection. City and Garver staff will answer questions and share details.  City of Bentonville

  • The Arkansas Travelers released their full 2025 schedule that starts with a game today at 6:05 p.m. against NW Arkansas and continues with a series of matchups through September against teams such as Wichita, Amarillo, Frisco, Tulsa, and Springfield—game times range from 1:35 p.m. to 7:05 p.m. Central and are subject to change.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • The No. 3 Arkansas Razorbacks will play the No. 6 LSU Tigers today at 6 p.m. in Omaha. Junior pitcher Zach Root will start the game after key postseason wins — both teams rely on strong pitching and timely hitting.  The Arkansas Traveler
  • Arkansas football is expected to host 11 prospects for official visits on the third straight weekend—recruitment efforts continue as the team works to strengthen its lineup.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Paulo Semedo verbally committed to Arkansas men's basketball Friday after completing his official visit, and his agent confirmed the commitment via ESPN—he is a 4 star prospect with scholarship offers from Arizona State, Miami and Florida State.   • The Arkansas men’s track team finished third at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene after the 1,600-meter relay placed them at 40 points—one point short of the co-national champions.
