- ➤ U.S. Army Private Rodger Dean Andrews, who died during D-Day, was buried Monday at Bethel Cemetery in Gravette next to his parents and sister after scientists used DNA and other tests to confirm his identity—bringing long-awaited closure to his family. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ ROGERS — A cyclist was airlifted to a hospital with severe injuries after being hit by a vehicle Saturday evening at the intersection of South Eighth and West Oak streets, and police say the driver was not found at fault. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ The Black Keys played at Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion last night while it rained hard and fans stayed to enjoy their blues-rock songs. The band showed two decades of strong music — a set that kept the audience cheering despite the storm. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, Bentonville officials reduced the speed limit on Southwest Eighth Street to 25 mph in a work zone from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Sept. 9 as crews work on the Eighth Street Gateway Park bridge project. Tomorrow, the eastbound curbside lane on Southeast 14th Street will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Aug. 30 so crews can complete road improvements for the Walmart Campus project. - ➤ Today, Bentonville begins two traffic changes—the speed limit on Southwest Eighth Street between Southwest I Street and Melissa Drive is reduced to 25 mph from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Sept 9 for work on the Eighth Street Gateway Park bridge. Starting Wednesday, an eastbound curbside lane on Southeast 14th Street will close from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily through Aug 30 for road improvements on the Walmart Campus project.
