- ➤ Ex-police chief Grant Hardin escaped from North Central Unit prison on May 25 by changing into a makeshift law enforcement uniform and walking out the gate but was caught near Moccasin Creek Friday—authorities are now probing how he planned the escape. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ The inaugural Ozark Music Festival debuts in Northwest Arkansas with 13 public concerts—featuring college musicians, university faculty and major orchestras—at venues in Bentonville, Fayetteville and Springdale starting Wednesday. The festival includes both free and ticketed events at locations like Fayetteville’s Cultural Arts Corridor, the Fayetteville Public Library Event Center and Faulkner Performing Arts Center.
