- ➤ Independent bookstores in Arkansas add more than just reading material—they host community events, serve food and coffee, and offer unique selections that reflect local culture. In Bentonville, Two Friends Bookstore and Cafe works with Casa Magnolia to provide a pay-what-you-can option while other stores in North Little Rock, Jonesboro and Searcy create welcoming spaces for book lovers. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ On May 19 through May 23, inspectors in Benton County checked restaurants and found food safety rule violations in 17 spots including kitchens in Bentonville, Rogers and Siloam Springs—problems ranged from wrong food temperatures to missing permits while many places passed inspection. Officials said they will use the results to help lower the risk of foodborne illness. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Today, Walmart announced Everyday Health Signals, a new platform that uses customer shopping data to help insurers and benefit managers encourage healthy eating+ eligible flex card members can opt in during a pilot with NationsBenefits. Walmart will also let Medicare Advantage members add benefits cards online so they can track over-the-counter spending as part of its push for better health tools. NWA Business Journal

- ➤ The Arkansas baseball team clinched the Fayetteville Regional with an 8-3 win over Creighton at Baum-Walker Stadium on Sunday night and became the highest-seeded team in the tournament.
