- ➤ Heavy rainfall on Friday caused several accidents on Interstate 49 that backed up traffic for miles as emergency vehicles worked near Ajax Avenue at mile marker 80 & near Wagon Wheel road at mile marker 74 with no injuries reported. 4029 News

- ➤ The Bentonville Community Orchestra made its debut at the Bentonville Public Library on Tuesday night and received a standing ovation from a packed crowd. About 25 musicians played classical pieces and modern tunes — including a rendition of the Pirates of the Caribbean theme song. 5 News

- ➤ Nearly 5,000 customers lost power Friday morning as severe weather swept through Sebastian, Washington and Benton counties (Sebastian 2,649, Washington 1,383, Benton 777). 5 News
- ➤ Air quality testing in Tontitown began Friday to see if the Eco-Vista Landfill is releasing harmful chemicals; CTEH technicians from North Little Rock are taking air samples at 14 spots over 11 days and have set up a hotline for nearby residents to report odors. - ➤ Arkansas state government's general revenue collections in April fell by $172.8 million—15.5% less than in April last year—to $940.6 million, state finance officials reported on May 2nd. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ McNelly Road—Benton County 40—from Spanker Road to Spanker Creek Road will be closed from June 2—13 or until the county finishes road work by removing old sections and getting the surface ready for new asphalt; detour signs and billboards will guide drivers the week before the closure.
