John Brown University in Siloam Springs announced this fall it will launch a new professional flight program in partnership with Airo — a Springdale-based flight school at Springdale Municipal Airport.

Up to 20 students will enroll in the program to earn pilot certifications and a business-focused liberal arts degree — steps aimed at meeting the rising demand for qualified pilots.

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed three acts on Wednesday that provided $575 million for water and sewer projects across Arkansas.

In Bentonville, Mayor Stephanie Orman said the city is ready to submit shovel-ready projects to ease water rates after a 100% increase in April — Fort Smith officials said the funds could support upgrades required by their federal consent decree.
