- ➤ Stoic Brews Alternative opened on March 14 in Bentonville after five weeks in business as Arkansas’s first gluten-free brewery. Founders Rebecca and Jay Davitt built the taproom to serve beer and meals safe for guests with gluten allergies—drawing on their personal experience—to offer a unique local option. 5 News
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Education and Health Services in Northwest Arkansas gained 1,900 jobs in March—the highest year-over-year increase among its top sectors and the largest percentage jump in the past 10 years. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported the metro added 4,209 jobs in February with unemployment rising slightly to 3.3%. NWA Business Journal

- ➤ Bentonville is inviting local residents with expertise in construction, architecture, or engineering to apply for the new Construction Board of Appeals—where they will review disputes over the city’s fire prevention codes. Applications will be accepted until May 6 and you must be a registered voter residing in the city. City of Bentonville
- ➤ Little Flock Police Department names a 29-year law enforcement veteran as its new chief with Pea Ridge ties—he will take the reins next week after the previous department head was fired in February. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Airport officials have filed a suit asking a court to require Highfill to use its local sales tax revenue solely to pay off its bond debt & officials expect the action to uphold state law. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ Florida State transfer quarterback Trevor Jackson will begin his official visit to Fayetteville today — he played two snaps as a scout team quarterback while redshirting at Florida State, and his visit comes as Arkansas looks for a new quarterback after freshman Madden Iamaleava enters the NCAA transfer portal and commits to UCLA.
