CULTURE NEWS

  • Documentarian Ken Burns spoke Friday at Heartland Whole Health Institute as part of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art's Building Bridges series in Bentonville.   • The Scott Family Amazeum is hosting its annual 21+ UnGala where adults enjoy cocktails and interactive games while raising funds so one in five visitors can visit free; tickets cost $125.  5 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Children’s Safety Center in Washington County held a free child abuse prevention training during National Child Abuse Prevention Month to teach adults how to spot warning signs online and at home. Director Casey Atwood noted a near 20% rise in cases and stressed the session covers useful parental control tools.  4029 News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Two tornadoes struck the west side of Washington County Tuesday night, uprooting trees and damaging outbuildings with no injuries reported.   • Houses of worship in Washington and Benton counties will offer free trees and shrubs to celebrate Earth Day, giving residents a chance to add greenery to their yards. The event is set to take place later this week.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • Arkansas men's basketball players Isaiah Sealy and Paolo Semedo announced on Friday that they will return for next season. Sealy, a four-star recruit who averaged 2.9 points and 1.3 rebounds and holds three years of eligibility, and redshirted Semedo, with four years, give the team seven guaranteed players.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Georgia Tech transfer D’Asia Thomas-Harris announced her commitment to Arkansas women’s basketball on social media Thursday; the 6-2 guard/forward from Katy, Texas averaged 5.1 points and 3.8 rebounds in 29 games during the 2025-26 season.
