  • Rogers-based Car-Mart (reporting a $76.7m quarterly loss) will close 42 dealerships, nearly 30% of its 136 outlets, by April 14; customers can still pay online while economists caution that reduced competition may raise prices and impact local jobs.  4029 News
  • Onward FX will be held on April 21 at Ledger in Bentonville and will host over 600 attendees and 90 investors. Jared Weinstein, co-founder of Thrive Capital + founder of The Overton Project, will lead the unscripted keynote before scheduled founder-funder sessions begin at 10:30 a.m.  NWA Business Journal

  • María José Marin became the first SEC and South American champion at Augusta National Women’s Amateur with a record 14-under par win and now boosts Razorback golf ahead of the SEC Championship on April 16 at Pelican Golf Club; she credited inspirations (Rory McIlroy and María Fassi) for her achievement.  The Arkansas Traveler
  • Tuesday, the Bentonville Tigers rallied with a six-run second inning to beat Fayetteville 11 to 3, while Conway and Van Buren also won baseball contests.   • Arkansas coach Courtney Deifel says the Razorbacks are set to face Mississippi State’s top pitching staff today at 5 p.m. in Starkville.
