- ➤ Lamar Steiger and his wife Shari said their 1,000-acre property between Pea Ridge and Bentonville will be used for a ranch expansion that continues an agricultural legacy begun in 1970 — the project will boost quality beef production as subdivisions replace farmland. - ➤ Bobby Bittle started his gym business in Bentonville when the area had no gym for heavy lifters and expanded it from his first J Street Gym in 2018 to new locations in Springdale, Rogers and Bentonville—with recent openings at Bella Vista Barbell and Chop Barbell. The company is a finalist for the Northwest Arkansas Outstanding Business Awards (Startup Business) with winners to be announced at a luncheon on April 9. NWA Business Journal
- ➤ Joseph Rupe opened Horizon Roofing, Solar and Exteriors in April 2023 after nearly 20 years running his family auto service business, and the company quickly grew to serve Fort Smith, Hot Springs and Northwest Arkansas. Revenue increased 97% and net profit climbed 510% by last year, and Horizon is a finalist for a local business award — the winner will be announced tomorrow at a luncheon. NWA Business Journal
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art held an event on April 6 to honor two Bentonville students for their 2025 Scholastic Art Awards submissions—Madison Bosquez from Bentonville West and Autumn Nguyen from the Thaden School received Gold Key medals and their artwork is on display in the Community Gallery through May 5. - ➤ The City of Bentonville will hold a public meeting on April 17 at 5:30 p.m. in the Rotary Room at the Public Library to update zoning and development codes as part of Plan Bentonville Phase 2—residents can learn about the process and share their ideas. City of Bentonville
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Benton County health inspectors conducted restaurant inspections from March 24 to March 27 and found many food safety violations at several restaurants—ranging from improper food storage and incorrect temperatures to expired permits. The issues were noted at establishments in Siloam Springs, Rogers and Bentonville and may increase the risk of foodborne illness. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ The Bentonville Tigers softball team is ranked No.1 in the state and No.20 nationally by Sports Illustrated, and head coach Kent Early said the team practices daily to build on a legacy of winning.
