- ➤ Cheryl Hatfield—new CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Benton County—charts a 10-year plan to better serve a growing community, and she visited students Friday at Old Wire Road Elementary School in Rogers after starting on Feb. 17. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Arkansas state lawmakers will be scrambling to finalize budgets, funding and bills as they seek to complete legislative work before the recess after April 16. They will have one week+half to address key issues in state finances+other measures. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Between March 27 and April 2, the Benton County Clerk's Office processed marriage license applications for couples from Bentonville, Siloam Springs, Rogers and Springdale (and other communities). Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Rep. Bruce Westerman introduced the ESA Amendments Act to modernize the Endangered Species Act, which has stopped extinctions but not recovered many species — the bill will give Arkansas local communities more control over wildlife management, including recovery strategies for the red-cockaded woodpecker.
