- ➤ Bentonville will host its annual Spring Tree Giveaway on April 12 at the Municipal Complex on SW Municipal Dr.— residents can pick up free trees including Red Maple, Paw Paw, Redbud, Tulip Poplar, White Flowering Dogwood, Green Giant, and Baldcypress. - ➤ Stars of HGTV’s Fixer to Fabulous Dave and Jenny Marrs opened Marrs on Main in downtown Bentonville on April 4—this new retail store at Bentonville Square sells furniture, woven rugs, art, and handmade goods from local artisans. The store is near the pedestrian walkway on A Street and aims to offer a warm space where each item tells a story. 5 News

- ➤ Bentonville West High School principal Jonathon Guthrie was named state principal of the year Friday by the Arkansas Association of Secondary School Principals—recognizing his focus on student safety and inclusion since the school's opening in 2016. - ➤ A group of young women learned cooking skills in a hands-on culinary program on Friday at Brightwater in Bentonville. Sixty-five students from 16 high schools prepared a community meal with experienced female chefs — NWACC and Thaden School organized the event. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Northwest Arkansas law enforcement agencies including teams in Bella Vista, Fayetteville, Rogers and Fort Smith will join a national campaign from Monday through April 14 to deter distracted driving. Officers will step up stops and ticket drivers who text while driving — warning that fines can reach up to $250 for a first offense. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
