  • Bentonville-based Walmart held the top spot in YouGov’s 2025 national grocery survey — 63% of U.S. shoppers chose Walmart, giving it a 20.8% lead over Target — and it also led online grocery orders with 64% of respondents selecting it.  NWA Business Journal

CRIME NEWS

  • Rogers man Joseph Alexander, 29, broke into his parents' home on Linebarger Lane on March 24 and allegedly shot his mother in the head with a crossbow—he fled before police arrived and was later caught in Missouri on a $50,000 bond as he faces charges of attempted capital murder.  5 News
  • A driver who led a police chase Tuesday had his pickup rammed by a state trooper, which flipped the vehicle, killed one passenger, and injured two, and state police said he will face murder and battery charges.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Visit Bentonville said events in 2024 generated $41 million in economic impact, double the $19 million record from 2023, with 310 events drawing many visitors. The organization will add 5 to 10 percent more events and hire extra staff to boost visitor stays—aiming to grow the economic impact further.  NWA Business Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Arkansas sports betting industry is on track to break records as wagers are expected to reach around $70 million this March, driven by the Razorbacks’ strong run in the NCAA Tournament. Officials said mobile betting and increased tourism have boosted numbers, even though higher payouts at Saracen Casino—reflecting the growing challenge of balancing profits and payouts.  5 News
