Undefeated local high schoolers, the Northwest Arkansas Ice Hogs, won the Mid America High School Hockey League and competed in the Chipotle USA Hockey High School National Championships in Plymouth, Minnesota from March 18–22; they won three play-in games and advanced to the quarterfinals — boosting Arkansas hockey pride.
Arkansas' Razorbacks advanced to the Sweet 16 after defeating High Point on Saturday in the NCAA Tournament, as sports reporters Darius Acuff, Matt Jones & Ethan Westerman analyzed the win on WholeHogSports Daily.
The Razorbacks are set to play South Carolina in Game 3 today at Founders Park with kickoff at 12:30 p.m. after a comeback win last night — they aim for a rare road series sweep while braving near-90° heat and gusty winds.
Arkansas outlasted High Point 94-88 Saturday night in the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the Sweet 16 + freshman Darius Acuff led with 36 points amid strong team play, with a next game set against the winner from Arizona and Utah State in San Jose, Calif.
Chef Ethan Powell, an Arkansas native from Portland, shared his Creole cuisine with the Razorbacks basketball team after their Friday practice during the NCAA tournament, and he offered free drinks for fans who wear Hog gear + the deal is for Saturday’s game against High Point at 8:45 p.m.
