- ➤ Authorities arrested five people in Northwest Arkansas on charges including aggravated assault, domestic battering, drug possession with intent to deliver and stalking—each suspect from Centerton, Fayetteville, West Fork and Springdale is held in custody with no bond set. - ➤ John Brown University in Siloam Springs will start a civil engineering degree this fall — a new program that gives a Bachelor of Science and teaches smart design and safe building — to help meet the growing need for improved roads, water systems, and sturdy structures. NWA Business Journal
- ➤ A Bentonville West High team was named one of 10 national finalists in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition + they will receive a $50K prize package in Samsung technology and classroom supplies as they prepare for a final pitch on April 28 in Washington, D.C. The team, which earlier won a $12K award as Arkansas winners, is developing an app that uses AI to screen for oral cancer affordably + they hope to make early detection more accessible in rural areas.
