ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Multiple emergency responders contained a brush fire that ignited around Beaver Lake Friday afternoon as high winds accelerated its spread near homes — the Hickory Creek, Lowell, Washington County AR Forestry and Highway 94 East Fire Departments worked quickly — and no injuries have been reported.  4029 News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • AtWork Bentonville opened its first staffing agency at 2927 W. Walnut St. in Rogers on March 11 under owner Mike Beazer. Glide Xpress Car Wash will hold four grand openings this month + its Bentonville site is set for March 21 while Spartan Investment Group acquired three self-storage facilities in Northwest Arkansas + including a 269-unit site in Bentonville, with additional sites in Rogers and Springdale.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • After selling its single-family homebuilding arm for $1B to a Florida-based firm, Rausch Companies in Fayetteville will shift its focus to its other divisions—moves set to guide the next phase of the business.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

CULTURE NEWS

  • On March 22, the Shiloh Museum will spotlight Marshallese culture in an event that honors a long-running partnership (dating back to 1987). Master canoe builder Liton Beasa will build a Marshallese KorKor from locally sourced sycamore wood with plans to feature it during upcoming cultural celebrations.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Joy Harjo, the 23rd Poet Laureate who at 73 once planned to stay home and watch movies, will speak on March 23 at Crystal Bridges during the American Sunrise: Indigenous Art exhibition.   • Between March 6 and March 12, 2025, many local residents and businesses filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 7 or Chapter 13, with one case coming from Bentonville on March 11—showing financial stress in our area.
