- ➤ The Arkansas House and Senate Education Committees are reviewing the latest public school funding adequacy report that shows gaps in funding for special education, maintenance and support staff (from surveys of superintendents and principals). - ➤ UA System president Jay B. Silveria (formerly a lieutenant general in the U.S. Air Force) said Arkansas should be proud as he tours campuses to see how new programs are changing lives, and he plans to visit each campus every semester to keep the system thriving. - ➤ Food inspectors found several local restaurants display food safety issues — including misplaced employee items and improper temperature controls — during inspections from Feb. 17 to Feb. 20.
