- ➤ Estee Lauder filed a trademark infringement suit against Walmart on Monday in central California after alleging that counterfeit products were sold on Walmart’s marketplace + Walmart then submitted a motion to seal the draft complaint, citing unauthorized communications. - ➤ Onward FX will connect startup founders with over 30 venture capital firms in Bentonville on April 20 and 21. Founders nationwide can apply (deadline midnight Feb. 23) to book one-on-one investor meetings as part of a plan to grow local business. NWA Business Journal
- ➤ Battle-Tested Foods, a veteran-owned popcorn brand, will bring three flavors to Walmart’s Marketplace by March after receiving a golden ticket at Bentonville’s Open Call in October + it will appear in local stores in October as it finalizes its Walmart registration. NWA Business Journal

- ➤ Under the new LEARNS Act, thousands of Arkansas third-graders who do not meet the state reading standard will be held back next school year—unless they receive a good-cause exemption—and schools will boost early literacy support to help improve skills before moving to fourth grade. - ➤ Tyson Foods and Cargill Inc. reached settlement agreements on Thursday to pay for cleanup of the Illinois River that flows from Northwest Arkansas into Oklahoma. Tyson will pay $19 million and Cargill $6.5 million while both companies agree to boost poultry litter removal and drop appeals pending judge approval. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ Cushman & Wakefield / Sage Partners hosted the NWA Market Insights event Wednesday in Bentonville where panelists discussed how upcoming Issue 3 on the Nov. 3 ballot could spur development by offering new tax incentives. Speakers noted the measures could help ease the supply shortage hindering local commercial projects. NWA Business Journal
- ➤ Runway Group, Blue Crane, and Riverside have announced The Hart on Main, a mixed-use project offering 184 apartments, 17 condos, retail, and office space on Bentonville Square's north side; the plan includes restoring the historic Benton County Jail (listed on the National Register).
