  • Entergy Arkansas (a local utility) is offering customers tools to manage winter bills and rising energy use. The online Bill Toolkit and myAdvisor, which sets electric use alerts, provide flexible payment options and access to assistance programs for qualifying customers.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Kath McLay, Walmart International CEO, announced her departure on Jan. 15 and will remain until Jan. 31 to support a smooth transition; she spent a decade driving strong performance across three segments and she lives in Bentonville with her family.  NWA Business Journal
  • Act-II Capital Holdings in Bentonville launched the Ozarks Retail Accelerator to help up to 10 consumer packaged goods companies scale for large retail placement. The 12-week hybrid program runs from March 31 through June 17 and welcomes applications until (Feb. 15).  NWA Business Journal

  • The Scott Family Amazeum in Bentonville received a $3 million donation from the Willard & Pat Walker Charitable Foundation on Thursday, Jan. 15 to support its $25 million Expanding Futures campaign, which will add new learning and community spaces set to open in late 2026.  NWA Business Journal

  • Centerton has approved a new community brand with a red and blue logo and 'Community at our core' tagline to boost economic development, and will unveil it at Coffee with the Mayor (9 a.m. Saturday at 290 N. Main St.).  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Arkansas officials told lawmakers on Thursday at the state Capitol that they are exploring alternative options after a federal agency rejected their proposal to boost Medicaid’s dental benefits and chronic pain coverage+Officials will assess next steps in the coming weeks.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Jan. 15, Arkansas lost 94-69 to Missouri in Columbia (Mo.) as the Razorbacks dropped their sixth straight game. Senior guard Taleyah Jones scored 22 points, and the team will face Georgia on Jan. 22 at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville.  The Arkansas Traveler
  • High school basketball schedules for today list Bentonville teams competing as Bentonville faces Fort Smith Northside and Bentonville West plays at Springdale plus Greenland hosts a game at Haas Hall.
